Q: Why has my motor gearbox failed?

A: A few of things can cause a gearbox to fail.

Slush syrup – Putting cheap slush mix in your tank can create issues over time as cheap slush has low sugar, which makes the mix over freeze and thereby placing duress on the motor as it’s turning the mix.

Running on empty – It you regularly operate the machine with low tank levels, the mix is over freezing (as there is less product) and thereby placing duress on the motor.

Incorrect water ratio – If you do not mix the correct water ratio, i.e. too much water, then the mix will over freeze and put duress on the motor.

Component failure – Occasionally, the motor can simply fail for no particular reason, the older it gets. luckily our motor gearboxes and the most robust available and it’s rare for this to happen. Cheaper slush machines can have regular gear box failures.
